VTV Audio Expo LA 2006 2006 VTV NY Show Reports: (May 2006) VTV Audiophile & Music EXPOSITION Los Angeles June 3 and 4, 2006
Embassy Suites LAX North 9801 Airport Blvd, (Right of the 405 South-Century Blvd Exit) Los Angeles, CA 310-215-1000
VTV LA EXPO Show Report by Charlie Kittleson Our LA Expo 2006 was a smooth, running event. Due to parking issues and the event being held at the same time as the Stereophile HES, attendance at the event was less than expected. Where were you guys who said you were coming? For the most part, vendors were satisfied, expecially exhibitors in the display room suites, who seemed to get a lot of the traffic from the other show. Ballroom vendors did get some trade, but it was not as busy as the two previous sucessful VTV Expos. But it was a great gathering and fun event for all who attended. You missed out if you did not attend. This show was much more relaxing and easy to get into rooms for demos. The ballroom was tube heaven with thousands of NOS audio tubes at bargain prices. Several tube vendors had everything from single plate 2A3s, WE 300Bs, Siemens and Philips 6922s, NOS output and small signal tubes. Lots of vintage audio, great vintage LP records, Minarik Guitars had an incredible display of some of the best electric guitars we have ever seen. If you didn't come, you missed a great show. We had some press members from Positive Feedback Online, Dagogo online and others. We had a number of visitors who came to see our show when they had seen all the exhibits at the HES, a block away. There is talk about forming a two-channel audio society to start holding regional audio expos in the future. Peter Qvotrup of AudioNote UK is a strong proponent of regional audio shows, like they have in Italy, Germany and the UK. Responsibility and marketing will be shared with industry members and volunteers (instead of just me!!) and these shows could become a viable alternative if industry members commit time and money and do the legwork necessary for a sucessful show. LA VTV EXPO 2006 Product Lines and Vendors: American Electronic Products - Cheer Tube Amps Bauls Audio - Bastanis Speakers and Cables Kent Leech Rare Audio Tubes Merv Harding's Quality Rare Records Metropolitan Music of New York VPI Turntables The Tono 807 (triode-connected) Personal Tube Amp will be here!!
DeHavilland Electric IOS Single Ended 845 Stereo Amp!!!
Note: Due to lack of support from the LA and California Audiophile Community, we will not be holding any more VTV Audio Expos in the future. A small number of vendors and attendess indicates lack of support and interest in my three attempts to bring audio shows to the public and to manufacturers at much lower costs than Stereophile, THE SHOW or CES. Give these guys all your hard-earned money. They are laughing all the way to the bank!! I proved that you can do these shows for a fraction of what these other groups do it for. If you missed our EXPOS, you blew it!!! HA HA HA
